Jason Kander, a Democrat, is running against Republican Roy Blunt in Missouri. Kander is a lawyer, a former US Army intelligence officer, and Missouri’s Secretary of State. Kander was trailing Blunt, a long-serving establishment Republican, until he ran this ad. The Senate seat in MO is now very much in play.

A good downballot ad? Madness.

My local dem senate challenger has been using Trump as his attack dog. I don’t really feel comfortable voting for anyone painting trump as a giver of sage leadership advice.

I live in Illinois, but I’m in the St. Louis metro and get a ton of the Kander & Blunt campaign ads.

Kander has another especially brutal one that I can’t seem to find at the moment.

Oh come on an AR15 pattern rifle is easy to tear down and reassemble!

I’m a firearm owner so naturally, I’m in the pro-gun boat, but I’m not against background checks.

It’s one of those great jabs- “I’m actually informed on decisions being made.” Too bad it’s not, you know, economy and education. But hey, once they take that right from us we won’t ever get it back so perhaps it’s best we continue to send a message.

He used reasonable logic. He’s doomed.

That and perhaps compassion. But wait: if he were compassionate, what sort of lawyer would he be?

It is, but that doesn’t detract from the effectiveness of the ad. From a purely technical standpoint, the location, the lighting, the sound, the script. It’s just very well done.

What I find particularly ironic about this race is that Kander is using Trump’s anti-establishment crusade in his favor. This ad is so effective, because it resonates with Republicans who can’t stomach Hillary but might still vote for the new guy if he’s pro 2nd Amendment, even if he is a Democrat.

I’m precisely as informed as my lobbyist tells me to be on this issue.

2nd amendment issues are essentially the main reason I don’t vote democrat.

The only issue I have with the background check thing is that it kills private sales.

I’m so tired of everything being a slam ad. I know barely anything about either of our candidates, but I sure do know why I shouldn’t vote for the other one!

I just saw this and... wow. That’s a great ad. I’d vote for him if I were in his district.
